Looking Ahead

The Montreal Canadiens organization doesn’t have to look far for some young upcoming defense men for the 2011-2012 NHL season.

A list of some defense men:

Yannick Weber – Probably has the best chance to secure a spot as a regular in the lineup.

Alexandre Picard – Good Size played pretty solid in the 43 games he played in.

Mathieu Carle – Had a decent year considering a setback with some injury problems.

Raphael Diaz – Solid two-way game in Switzerland, wait to see what he can do in Canada.

Kyle Klubertanz – A very solid year in Hamilton won’t be surprised if he plays next year.

Alexei Yemelin – Has matured in the KHL looks promising but a two-way contract can see him with both teams.

Brendon Nash – Good size young potential you never know.

Defense that should be signed:

Andrei Markov – 2 year deal worth 4.75m a year.

Josh Gorges – long-term contract worth 3.5-4m a year.

Yannick Weber – Can fit the bill as six defense or even bottom six on forward 1-3 year deal worth 1m or less.

Hamilton Bulldogs will play Game 5 tonight at Copps Coliseum at 7:30pm et.
