Habs Future Status

Looking ahead for the years to come the Habs will need some talented prospects to keep their franchise win playoff contention every year.

Louis Leblanc has been a good talented young prospect but after his team was eliminated, he had to have shoulder surgery and the surgery was worse than first thought. Leblanc will have to prepare for 4-6 months of rehab which will take him right to the beginning of the NHL’s regular season start. So all of those rumors about  maybe Leblanc making the NHL or even AHL as of next year will most likely not work out for the young prospect.

As for Alexi Yemelin a 2nd round draft choice in ’04 which also included Kyle Chipchura (gone), Grabovski (gone), Greg Stewart (gone) and Mark Streit (gone). Were hoping that maybe just maybe Yemelin could make his way to North America but it seems it will have to wait until the IIHF World Hockey Championships is over. “De Foy reports the one-year deal will stipulate that Yemelin, 25, can return to Russia rather than accept demotion to the Hamilton Bulldogs.”
